This year, every course section was given its own course in Canvas. The initial method for combining these sections into one course was time consuming and a little tricky. With Canvas’ help, we have rolled out a new and much simpler method for combining courses in Canvas into one course. To combine sections into one course (as was done in previous years), follow the steps below.
- In your Dashboard, you will notice each section of your classes has its own course. If you would like to combine them, they need to be “cross-listed”.

- Click courses on the blue global navigation bar on the left hand side.
- Click all courses.

- Click “Crosslist Courses”

- Click the dropdown and select a section you would like to combine with others.

- This should bring up a view that looks like this. Check off sections to include in the combined course.

- Give the course a name that does not include the period or block. Be sure to include course name and teacher’s name.
- For example:
- Teacher – DeLeo
- Course – Science 8
- School Year – 2021-2022
- Name the course:
- Science 8 – DeLeo – 21-22
- For example:

- Click “Submit”

- In your Dashboard, you will see the combined course containing all of the sections you selected.
