Each teacher laptop (Dell 5310 and 5320) has the ability to connect to additional monitors/displays over a single cable (USB-C). Once the laptop is connected to the dock via USB-C, the dock handles the connections to each individual monitor or display. Before beginning setup for additional displays, make sure the USB-C cable from the dock is connected to the laptop.
Below you will find information about the two most common display setups. This includes how these setups work, and how to configure Windows to get them working. Keep in mind, going through these steps is tied to the individual dock you are connected to. When connected to another dock (perhaps in another classroom) these steps need to be followed again.

Laptop with Interactive Display
The most common setup for a teacher involves duplicating the laptop display to an interactive display. Whatever content is found on the laptop display will also show on the interactive display. This is by far the simplest setup while also allowing for the most functionality. A teacher can utilize the touch features of the interactive display as well as the touch features of the laptop. To begin setup, we must rearrange the displays virtually in settings.
- Open the Start Menu

- Click on Settings

- Click System

- Click Display 1

- Scroll down to Multiple Displays. Click the drop down menu, then select Duplicate these displays.

- Click Keep changes

- Display 1 and 2 should now be merged together. You should see the same content on the laptop display and the interactive display.

Laptop with Interactive Display and Additional Monitor
Adding an additional display requires additional configuration in Windows so that content displays and behaves correctly.
- Open the Start Menu

- Click on Settings

- Click System

- You should now see how the displays are configured. The screenshot below shows Display 1 and Display 2 being duplicated (showing the same content), with Display 3 set to extend (providing extra screen space that will not show on Display 1 and 2. Display 3 is on the right hand side of Display 1|2, which means content can be dragged to the right from Display 1|2 to Display 3.

- In order to change which monitor is duplicating the content shown on the laptop display (Display 1), we need to first turn off duplication for Display 1 and Display 2.
- Scroll down to Multiple Displays. Click the drop down menu, then select Show only on 1.

- Click Keep changes

- Click the drop down menu again, then select Duplicate desktop on 1 and 3

- Click Keep changes

- Display 1 and 3 should now be merged together. You should see the same content on the Display 1 and Display 3. Display 2 should now show additional content.
