GoGuardian has the ability to restrict the access students have to the internet to ensure students are only working on school assignments. In order to do this, GoGuardian needs to know what websites to allow or block.

If you don’t want/need to know the technical stuff, skip this next part…Or watch the video below!

Consider the following use case for a student that needs to access an Office 365 assignment in Canvas. They would need to follow the following path to be allowed in order to reach their destination.

Student opens new tab -> Clever -> Login with Microsoft Account -> Clever -> Canvas -> Office 365 External tool

John, I don’t care about the technical stuff. How do I keep my students on their assignments and not on Google Chat?

I made a list of essential sites in GoGuardian for you! When creating a scene in GoGuardian, you will see the ability to add from “Quick Lists”. This list will allow everything in Clever, Office 365, Canvas, SchoolTool and the district website. The list is titled “Maple Recommended Allow List”. You can add more to this list, or take away anything you don’t want students to access.
